  • Can it choose what it says?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    \n\nStudents may disagree on the second point. Highlight two points: AIs seem to \u201cdecide\u201d what to say, but they are also computer programs that were made by people.\n\n<\/div>\n \n\nShow slide six <\/strong>and ask:\n

    • Who made the AI toy? (The people at the toy or app company.)<\/em><\/li>\n \t
    • Who gave it its name? (The people at the toy or app company.)<\/em><\/li>\n \t
    • Who chooses what it says?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n\nRevisit the question from earlier about whether or not AIs can decide for themselves what to say. Ask students who they think has more control over what the AI says, the AI itself or the people who made it.\n\n<\/div>\n \n
