Western Spaghetti

We are looking at a stop-motion animated video titled ‘Western Spaghetti’ by PES, which starts with the PES logo on a mustard-colored background. The title, ‘Western Spaghetti,’ is presented in a handwritten-style font on a black background.

We move to a close-up of a gas stove burner, which is ignited with a click and a flame. The flames appear to be replaced by four pieces of candy corn. A person places a large silver pot filled with water over the ‘flames’.

The scene cuts to a close-up of a hand holding googly eyes. The hand pours the eyes into the pot of water.

Next, we see a stainless-steel pan on a stovetop, where a person pours what looks like brown oil into the pan. Aluminum foil is then placed in the pan, with more oil being added.

The camera shifts to a person’s hands solving a Rubik’s cube. A small piece is removed. A large knife chops up the remainder of the puzzle into smaller pieces.

We go back to the stovetop, where the ‘flames’ are burning again. The disassembled pieces of the Rubik’s cube are poured into the pan.

A variety of red tomato-shaped pin cushions with pins and decorative sprinkles and leaves are displayed on a white cake stand. We return to the pan, where more of the Rubik’s cube pieces are added. The hand with the wooden spoon drops red fabric into the mix and pushes the tomato pin cushions down into the mixture. The lid is put on the pan.

Next, we see bubbles forming in a pot of boiling water and we watch a kaleidoscope of colors, of plastic pick-up sticks, being poured from a canister onto an open hand, then lowered into the pot of boiling water.

The red fabric is stirred with a wooden spoon in the stainless-steel pan.

The camera shifts to a money tree in a blue pot, decorated with pennies and dollars. A hand reaches in and plucks a dollar off of the tree. The dollar is sliced into strips using a knife on a wooden cutting board.

Next, we see the pieces of a cut up one dollar bill added to the stainless-steel pan.

We are shown a green bowl full of dice, and using metal claw-shaped tongs, one die is extracted.

Next, a single die is placed on a red fabric landscape.

Back in the kitchen, we see butter being sliced on a white plate and then placed into the red mixture in the frying pan.

The pick-up sticks are drained and boiling in the pot.

The camera shifts, showing a colorful ball of rubber bands with the red fabric from the pan spooned on top of them. The ball of yarn is grated over the red fabric and rubber bands.

Two chess pieces, a white queen and a black king are shown near the plate.

A vintage tin of Steven Kaleidoscope is shown. A hand cranks the kaleidoscope, and black pepper like sprinkles are seen exiting the kaleidoscope, falling on top of the grated yarn.

A final shot pans out, showing a “Western Spaghetti” plate, along with a candlestick, American-flag-patterned table runner, and goblet.

The video ends with title credits displayed on a black background.
