After the Story
Have students compare their choices and the endings they reached.
- Remember some students may have played the story several times and reached different endings.
Next, have students access the student chapter Questions and have students answer the questions in the Structure Strip activity.
Have students share their answers:
Which choices did you make the first time?
How did you feel about those decisions?
Which choices were harder to make than others?
Which choices turned out best for Sam? How about Laura? Which choices turned out best for Aadan?
Does it make a difference that Laura didn’t know how much it would hurt Sam’s feelings when she said “We don’t want to play with you”?
Do you think this would have happened differently if they had been offline, like playing at recess?
Was it okay for Sam to destroy Laura’s castle to get back at her, or is that just as bad as what she did to him?
Ask students to connect the scenario with their own experience:
- Have you experienced a situation similar to this before?
- If so, how did you handle it?
- Based on what you learned, how could you have handled it differently?
Have any of them played Cyber Choices before? If so, what might have changed since the last time they did?
