Described Video
Autumn Peltier’s Watermark
The video opens with a blank white screen. Text appears, saying, ‘OTTAWA RIVERKEEPER x CRAFTED STORIES’ and underneath, ‘PRESENTS’. Then, ‘A WATERMARK PROJECT STORY’ is displayed. The screen then transitions to a portrait of a young woman.
The superimposed imagery is of water and a landscape. The words ‘AUTUMN PELTIER’ are displayed, followed by the text, ‘LAKE SUPERIOR’. The woman speaks of Lake Superior being her favorite place. She mentions that she feels really happy there and that nothing else is going through her mind.
Next, the young woman is shown in a brick building, and then she’s holding a picture of herself by the lake. The video returns to the young woman in the building, where she talks about her Aunt Josephine and her mom teaching her about water. The young woman continues, recalling a time when she was at a water ceremony and saw a boil water advisory. The screen then goes back to a picture of the young woman. At the end, the words ‘#MYWATERMARK’ are displayed in a blue font.
