Talking to People Online and Offline

How is talking to people online (through things like video games, social networks, texting and instant messaging) different from talking to people face-to-face?

Make sure your argument is balanced. For example, when adding an example like “We can see them” to the “offline” category, make sure you add how this changes in the online setting (we can’t see them).

Here are two examples of each to get you started. Add as many more as you can think of!

OFFLINE:

We can see them

We can hear their tone of voice

ONLINE:

We can’t see them

We can’t hear their tone of voice
