Six-Shot Storyboard

Now let’s see if you can apply what you’ve learned about camera angle, distance and movement to tell a story in six shots.

Your story should have:

  • At least two characters
  • A clear relationship between those two characters (we don’t need to know exactly who they are to each other, but we need to know how they feel about each other)
  • A problem that gets introduced and resolved
  • A secret or surprise

If you want you can draw your storyboard, take photos, or use an online storyboarding program.

Identify the angle and distance for each shot, and if a shot has movement show it with arrows like in the example. You don’t have to describe what’s happening in the shot but you can if you want to.

You can use the template (tiny.cc/rulestemplate) to plan, or draw your storyboard freehand.
